I feel like a lot of these “former gifted kids” posts could just be a bunch of people with adhd who are now experiencing burnout. And like I understand the frustration of seeing someone who you assume was praised all the time feeling bad for themselves, but like having adhd and being able to hide that fact and teachers never taking you seriously when you finally brought it up is uhh painful. There’s a lot of resentment I hold for my teachers never caring enough to suggest I get tested. I would have been more consistent in my work if I had a rediagnosis and maybe some medication and that’s not even getting into the abuse I faced at home for “being lazy”. So like, yeah the advanced kids who were fucking shitty and could do everything and never struggled suck SO fucking much, but I’ve noticed that A LOT of people with adhd are labeled as “smart but lazy” by teachers that don’t care enough to figure out if it’s really laziness and I don’t think that’s a coincidence.

no but seriously one time i ordered something from adam & eve (surprise a big ol dildo) and the order said discreet shipping and i was like cool ya know cause i lived with three dudes in an apartment and also had to go to the apartment office to pick up my package so discreet is dope and i got the package delivery notification like sick im about to dick myself so i walked my happy horny ass down to the office and told the lady my name and she went into the package delivery room to grab it and it took her a minute and she came out with a dick shaped bag just grasping the shaft of it and i looked at it mortified and had to grab the balls part of the package from the woman and she let go and it just wiggled and i could feel the squish through the bag and it was just horrible

DMing gets so much easier when you get character backstories and not just a vague character concept. Tell me what your life is like, do you have parents? Any important organizations? Friends? Enemies? Ex-lovers? Any interactions with extra planer beings? What is your favorite childhood memory? What was the place you grew up like? Have you killed anyone? Do you regret it? What is your biggest regret in life?
Even a bullet point list is a great start. It doesn’t have to be in story format.

My friend’s dog had the same happen. They were supposed to have 4 puppies, they got one single puppy the size of 4 newborns bc he absorbed his siblings before they were fully developed. They named him Pangea.
